Amelia Frey

Communications Intern

Amelia (she/her) is a student at Macalester College from Takoma Park, Maryland. She is interested in majoring in International Relations, with a minor in Anthropology and a special interest in the African continent after having lived in Lilongwe, Malawi for four years. Amelia believes that effective communication is the key to understanding new experiences, learning more about the world, and bridging divides between communities both local and global. Her past involvement includes volunteer coordination for donation-based anti-poverty initiatives with DC based non-profit A Wider Circle, and advocacy work against the formation of crisis pregnancy centers within a fellowship with Congressman Jamie Raskin (MD-8). Her passions include: making matcha lattes, taking pictures of the world around her, and spending as much time in the sun as possible! Amelia hopes that her time at Move for America will help connect more college-aged students with opportunities to learn how to successfully communicate ideas across divides within a wide range of current social atmospheres.
